Expectations
Everyone is expected to share the
Good News
ROCK means “Reaching Others for Christ the King”. We
need to work together to fulfill our purpose of leading new people
to Christ as well as enabling a deeper relationship with Him for
those who believe.
Everyone is expected to be present
If you are going to miss more than 3 Thursday nights for any reason
it simply means you probably do not have time to be on ROCK.
Everyone will have a leadership job.
The Leadership team is not just a small group or a decision making
group. It is a leadership group in which every person will have
a leadership job. If you do not have a job then there are many things
needed for the semester and those are listed below. However, if
you have an idea, we believe that God may be calling you to do that
for us and we will work with you to enable it to occur. All jobs
will fit into the overall goals of the ministry.
Everyone will be reading the Scripture
together
It is our assumption that each person on leadership is reading the
Scripture. It is encouraged to read at least a chapter a day. We
will assign reading 3 chapters a week and use those for devotions
in leadership. We are assuming that all participants will also read
other passages of their own choosing.
Everyone will memorize Scripture.
The
memory list is found by clicking on this link.
Everyone will be held to the covenant
ROCK is a covenant group that agrees to operate on a central guideline.
Failure to uphold the covenant to the best of our abilities weakens
the infrastructure of the group. All leaders should
print a copy of the Leadership Covenant
and turn it in to Brad as soon as possible.
Every person will have an encouragement
partner
Encouragement partners are those that support us and check on us.
An encouragement partner is someone that asks us if we have memorized
our scripture and then if we have not simply works with us to do
so. They do not chastise us but encourage us. We wall need encouragement.
It is our goal that encouragement partners will do something of
encouragement with each other at least 4 times a week. This is not
necessarily a meeting but may be a chance gathering or a walk to
class. It could also be a time of prayer together. Guidelines are
available.
Every person is expected to be on
the Fall Retreat
Every person will take a Ministry University course.
Every person is encouraged to maintain a 2.75 GPA |
